Rocky Bottom Bass Club, founded in 1987, is located in the Archdale/Trinity area of N.C. We always welcome new members after our tournament season begins, contact us if interested. We will post our year end meeting time and place as soon as it is determined. We will also schedule our tournament dates for 2010, so we encourage everyone interested in joining to attend this meeting. We will have one final meeting before our tournaments begin in March for any individuals that may be interested in joining but missed the year end meeting.
Final results for the big fish hunt of the year: Andy Nix 7.13lber Andy Nix wins final event, Carty Sealy and Derrek Tussey take points win! Well, another year is in the books as the Rocky Bottom Bass Club wrapped up its season this past weekend with a two day event, the first day on Tuckertown and the final day on the water this year at High Rock. Andy Nix took the early lead with 21.13lbs, including a 7.13lber that would end up being big fish of the year for club. Second place belonged to Derrek and Carty with 14.7lbs and coming in third was Derrek and Jerry with 12.5lbs. The day at Tuckertown is over, so know we head to High Rock, and what a difference that will make. At the end of the day, it was Michael Kinard coming in with 15.9lbs, Derrek and Carty with 14.14lbs, and Vernon and Andy with 12.3lbs. Andy Nix was able to hold to first place by 3lbs when it was all said and done, winning the final event of the season with 32.1lbs. Congratulations to Derrek and Carty for winning the season long points race, which was a roller coaster for several teams exchanging first place from time to time. They were able to edge Andy Nix by just two points, that was close. It was rumored that it just wasnt fair for Carty and Derrek to team up against Andy, since he went at it alone this year, and they had two people in the boat, just doesnt seem fair!! JUST KIDDING! Congrats to Derrek Loflin and Jerry Hopkins for finishing third in the points race this year. Thanks to everyones hard work and another great year of fishing. This is the only club that I know of where all the guys get along, and there is never any disagreements or arguments, thanks to you guys! As always, if any of you know anyone that is interested in joining the club, please let them know how to get in touch with us, or simply bring them to our meeting. Once everyone can get together, and the trophies are done, we will get everyone together at The Pioneer resturaunt in Archdale for our meeting to give out awards for this year and to set up the schedule for next year. If any questions arise in the meantime, please contact Andy Nix at 336-689-5569. Thanks to all of you again for a great season of fishing and friendship! See ya next year! ![]()
